Why use Facebook as Your Marketing Strategy?
Social media can be a place for sharing interesting stories with your friends and family or can be a place to share the next big idea with potentially millions of people.
Social media is one of the primary categories I am investing a good proportion of my time into and that comes down to one large factor.
Social media is a powerhouse when it comes to wanting to get your business the recognition it deserves. There are over 2 billion, yes 2 billion! monthly active users on Facebook alone and being able to serve your vision to even a tiny proportion of this community will bring great value to your business.
Facebook Ads is Great for Targeting a Specific Audience
Now, Facebook is king when it comes to paid advertisements due to being able to pinpoint your exact target market through a wide range of factors, such as location, age, gender, interests, and much more!
If you really want, you can target middle-aged women who live in Trafalgar Square and love cats. That seems to be a lot more powerful than your standard A5 section in your local newspaper, and that comes down to being able to target only the people who would most likely be interested in your business, which will drive down unnecessary ad spend, and also you will be able to reach out to a vast majority of potential customers.
Okay, with all the pros comes a big con and that is that Facebook changed the way their algorithm works back into 2012 only allowing organic Facebook content to reach around 3–5% of their audience.
That’s sad news for people who do not want to spend any money on marketing since this percentage is very low and the great content you provide will only be seen by a small number of people.
Facebook did this for 2 main reasons which were to get rid of the spammy look on people’s Facebook news feeds, as well as wanting to get people to transition over to their Facebook Ads marketing scheme.
The good thing is that Facebook Ads can bring an immense return on investment since you can start to see good results from just £5 a day if optimised well and targeting the right people.
Luckily there a ton of great social media platforms out there that provide you with a great way to spread the message and get your word out. Each serving their own purpose and each great for targeting tons of different people.
For example, LinkedIn is a great platform to share your content and business if you are B2B (Business to Business) which provides a product or service strictly to other businesses.
Identify who your target audience is and where they virtually hang out!
